Microsoft.Sharepoint.Powershell Snapin for Mac downloaded and installed, easily. Instructions were available with the program in the form of a readme file with the installer--a great addition because the program is very difficult to use. It is also unclear if technical support is available. The user must choose whether to open the regular version or a 32-bit option. This choice could be confusing to a number of early Mac users. Once initiated, the program's menu is basic with buttons on top of the window for setup, menus, assigning hot keys, and Microsoft.Sharepoint.Powershell Snapin lists. After much trial and error and consulting the instructions, the test functions did perform well and as indicated.
What's new in this version: In Microsoft.Sharepoint.Powershell Snapin 0.9.3921, I detect if Microsoft.Sharepoint.Powershell Snapin and Substrate are both installed, but that somehow Microsoft.Sharepoint.Powershell Snapin does not have the required permission to use Substrate. I did not realize that downloading Microsoft.Sharepoint.Powershell Snapin and Substrate from the Microsoft.Sharepoint.Powershell Snapin Store would have a check-and-the-egg problem with defining and activating the security permission. I will look into a better solution to this going forward. In the mean time, 0.9.3921 detects this and asks the user to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft.Sharepoint.Powershell Snapin :(.
Microsoft.Sharepoint.Powershell Snapin is a clipboard utility, but you'll have to manually add each item into its database. Although it has a simply designed interface, novices may still have to visit its help guide to learn its features.
